PERMITS


RV (CAMPER) REGISTRATION & PERMIT APPLICATION
A limit of two (2) recreational vehicles may be permanently parked for occasional use per parcel.

ONE-TIME REGISTRATION FEE OF $100.00
If your RV is replaced by another model, a new permit application will need to be applied for.

Please contact the Clerk to update your registration information if anything changes.

Any Parcel with activity should have an emergency fire number.
Fee of $100.00

  • Fire signs will be installed within the public highway right-of-way once a driveway has been laid out and marked. Fire signs may not be removed except by a town official.
  • Property owners are responsible for maintaining the area around fire signs so that visibility of signs are not obscured.
  • The Town is responsible for replacing fire signs due to normal wear. Property owners are responsible for cost of replacing damaged, lost or altered fire signs.

    APPLICATION FOR LAND USE PERMIT
    Fine for construction without a valid permit
    $200 minimum/ $1,000 maximum

  • All structures, including parked seasonal-use campers/trailers/park models, require a building permit and fire sign.
  • Building permit not required for temporary buildings used exclusively for construction purposes-not used for living quarters.
  • Building permits valid for 12 months from date of issuance.
  • Minimum lot size per residence: 5 acres unless lot has been grandfathered.
  • Minimum setbacks: 10 feet from side and back property lines; 60 feet from public highway right-of-way. Lots with direct frontage on public highway must have minimum frontage of 150 feet.
  • Minimum residential living space: 400 square feet.
  • Mobile homes older than 25 years or in rundown, dilapidated condition are not allowed. Trailers used for storage are not allowed.
  • Building permits not required for repairs/replacements unless roofing changes are planned.
  • Building permits required for additions to buildings or structurally altered buildings.
  • Sanitary permit required before issuance of a building permit for a residence. Holding tanks are not allowed. Contact Juneau County Zoning & Sanitation Department for information (608-847-9391).
  • Property owner liable for any/all damage to town property, including roads, due to construction by property owner or property owner's contractor/subcontractor resulting from issuance of a building permit.

    DRIVEWAY PERMITS

    [Section 8, Ordinance No. 5(H)]

  • Driveway permits required for installation of driveways without a structure on the property.
  • No driveways shall be installed, altered or changed without first obtaining a permit authorizing the installation, change or construction of the driveway.
  • Culverts (minimum 12-in. diameter x 30-ft. long) required for driveways unless omission is approved by the town board.
  • Minimum driveway requirements: 20-ft. wide; 30-ft. wide at the culvert; 20-ft. overhead height clearance (trees, lines); driveways longer than 150 ft.
  • Should have adequate turnaround to accommodate emergency vehicles; constructed as straight as possible.

    Burning permits are required by the Wisconsin DNR in many parts of the state to conduct legal and responsible burning in the outdoors. Burning permits are free and easy to obtain. They encourage the public to burn safely and are proven to be effective in protecting lives, property and natural resources from the damages of wildfires.
